An Altona building manufacturer continues to successfully adapt and evolve to an ever changing marketplace in North America.
Conquest Manufacturing has come a long way since its early beginnings, which originally involved the purchase and resale of mobile homes. The company, started by the late George Sawatsky in 1956, eventually started constructing those mobile homes for the Canadian market under the company name of Challenger Home Builders Ltd.
The family owned business, which includes second, third and fourth generation family members, has morphed over the years, changing its name to Conquest Manufacturing Ltd in 1977.
Company President Vaughn Stephenson says the company focused on the construction of a variety of residential homes for many years, but in 2005, made a decision to begin focusing efforts on the design and construction of pre-fabricated, modular structures for shipment across North America.
