A number of years ago, Conquest Manufacturing was building RTM homes, for the USA market, but when the Canadian dollar gained in value, we no longer received requests from USA customers. With the weakening Canadian dollar, it is again advantageous for USA customers to look for housing options north of the border. This is fantastic for Conquest, given our close proximity to the US/Canada border. USA clients do not have to travel far, to meet with us in person, and take a tour of our factory, to gain a better understanding of what we do.
We have had a number of requests from USA customers, to provide estimates on their home building projects, and we are currently in the completion stages of a custom built RTM home, going to Grafton, ND. This home should be ready for moving by the end of June 2016. This home was custom designed, together with the customer, so it will meet all of the requirements that the customer had. It features an open concept main living area, vaulted ceilings, lots of glass for fantastic natural lighting, a large garage entry/mudroom, main floor laundry and a large walk-in closet and ensute bathroom.
All of the ductwork is factory installed inside the open web wood floor joist trusses, reducing on-site time to install these components, and creating a full-height basement with no requirement for a support beam or teleposts. This allows for comfortable living space in the basement.
Due to the fact that all of our homes are built inside an environmentally controlled factory, we are able to do a more thorough job of insulating, creating higher efficiency homes. Our building methods may look backwards to site builders, as we build all of our structures inside out. This is the main reason we are able to do a better job of insulating, especially in areas around electrical plugs and switches found in exterior walls, as well as attic spaces.
For this Grafton, ND home, Conquest will make the necessary arrangements, with the building mover, to have the home delivered to site and placed on the ICF basement, supplied by the customer. Conquest will also be supplying the basement staircase, which will ship along inside the home, for quick installation after the house is secured to the foundation, making basement accessibility much better.
The time frame to build a 1400 sq ft bungalow, like this, is approximately six weeks. The foundation can be constructed during this same time, greatly reducing the over-all time it takes, to complete a project like this.
